Be Aware: Neither Derby Homes nor our contractors will ask you for money at your door for tree work in your properties boundary or on communal housing land.
We’ve had a report this week from a tenant who was visited by a man and asked for a payment of £500 to remove a communal tree. The resident was told the work needed to doing as its roots were going under his flat. He said the money was for labour, skip hire and removal of the tree and even offered the option of payment instalments of £17 per week!
Thankfully, they refused to pay the money.
Please stay alert and report any suspicious behaviour to the police.
